Hunter rescued after getting stuck in mud at northeast Nebraska wildlife area
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Stanton County deputies rescued a man who got stuck in the mud while hunting doves on Monday, the sheriff’s office says.
Around 10:45 a.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that a 25-year-old man was up to his waist in mud at the Wood Duck State Wildlife Management Area.
After about 30 minutes, deputies found the hunter in a pond that was full of mud, according to the sheriff’s office.
Eventually, deputies were able to rescue the hunter using ropes. He was treated at the scene for dehydration.
The sheriff’s office said this is the third time that a hunter has gotten stuck in heavy mud at the wildlife area in the past seven years.
