Husker ace Emmett Olson picked by Miami Marlins in MLB draft

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Nebraska pitcher is heading to the Sunshine State after being chosen in the MLB draft on Monday.
Emmett Olson, a second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2022, was picked in the fourth round by the Miami Marlins.

Olson is the third Husker selected in this year’s draft. Nebraska standouts Brice Matthews and Max Anderson were picked in the first and second rounds, respectively.
Last season, Olson pitched a total of 82 innings in 15 games, yielding a 4.50 ERA and 80 strikeouts. He finished the season with six wins and three losses.
