Husker baseball’s Brett Sears named Big Ten Pitcher of the Year

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska ace Brett Sears was chosen Tuesday as the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year.

The junior starter has the best ERA in the conference (2.05).

He has recorded 87 strikeouts and 16 walks over 92 innings.

Sears is the first Husker ever to win Pitcher of the Year.

He was also selected for the All-Big Ten First Team.

Nebraska’s Mason McConnaughey and Tyler Stone made the all-conference second team, and Case Sanderson was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team.
