Husker basketball’s Brice Williams earns honor from national coaches association

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska basketball standout Brice Williams earned another postseason honor on Tuesday.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches selected Williams for the first-team All-Central District honors.
The six-state region features players from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Williams is the first Husker to earn the NABC honor since James Palmer Jr. in 2018.
Earlier this month, Williams earned unanimous first-team All-Big Ten honors.
The senior guard averaged a league-high 20.7 points per game, along with 4.4 rebounds and 3 assists per game in conference play.
He’s the first Husker since 2014 to lead the Big Ten in scoring during conference play.
Williams ranked among the conference leaders in several other categories, including free throw percentage (.875) and minutes played (36.3).
On Monday, the Huskers were one of 16 teams selected for the College Basketball Crown tournament.
Nebraska’s first opponent will be Arizona State on March 31. That game is scheduled for tip-off at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1.
