Husker Bass Anglers host ‘Casting to Make a Difference’ at Holmes Lake

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Husker Bass Anglers are providing for the community with their casting to make a difference event at Holmes Lake on Sunday.

The free youth fishing event brought in food from the Knights of Columbus, while the angler team gave out rods, reels and bait.

The event is meant to help youth get their feet wet with the sport, while getting them outdoors.

The Bass Anglers oversaw the fishing and helped the kids learn the basics.

“Our goal with casting to make a difference is to get these kids involved with fishing at a young age,” said Junior Husker Angler Logan Greeno, president of the club.

The Husker Bass Anglers were announced as Nebraska’s “sport club of the year” for 2025.

The team will continue to fish in events across the country.
