Husker fan has wish granted

After last weekend’s football game against Illinois, Husker fan Vince Kunasek left something in the stands. 

It wasn’t an old box of popcorn, or an empty box.

Instead, it was something meaningful – a hat belong to his cousin, who he called his best friend, who had recently passed away.

Next to that hat he left a note, asking whoever found it to somehow, some way get it to Husker football coach Scott Frost for an autograph.

Kunasek wrote he wanted to give the autographed hat back to his cousin, Paul Renninger’s family.

A student found the hat, posted pictures of it on social media, and the message got to Frost.

Frost signed the hat and invited Kunasek and the Renninger families to Memorial Stadium.
