Husker fans gather at bars to cheer on volleyball team from afar

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Husker fans gathered for watch parties in Nebraska on Thursday night as the volleyball team faced Pitt in Tampa.
Fans packed Rosie’s Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Lincoln to watch the NCAA tournament semifinal.
“I just love the environment of Rosie’s,” Brad Steffen said. “We come here for football games, volleyball games on occasion.”
The bar was prepared for the influx, making sure there was plenty of food and staff.
“College game days get us pretty prepared for an influx of a lot of people all at once,” general manager Josh Munford said. “We do high volume pretty well.”
The Huskers certainly gave the fans plenty to cheer about, sweeping Pitt to advance to the national title game.
But the fans also enjoyed the camaraderie.
“We all want to come out and be around other Husker fans so we can celebrate together and cheer,” Dayton Bailey said.
You can expect plenty of fans to be back at the bar Sunday afternoon for the national championship.
The match starts at 2 p.m. on Channel 8.
