Husker fans marry on game day

There was a husker wedding in Dewitt, Nebraska today.

The two families bleed big red so they couldn’t resist tuning in for the game before and after the ceremony.

“We had all the radios playing that were around, the tv’s in the church were on, and everybody was keeping track, phones were out, live feeds, and all that good stuff,” said Hunter Oliver.

Hunter Oliver and his new wife Carly say the plan was to schedule their wedding on the huskers bye week.

The first game ended up being canceled and then rescheduled for Saturday, October 27th.

The wedding had to go on anyway, even though some of the participants were wondering what the score was.

Oliver moved to Dewitt from Beatrice a few years ago. That’s when he met Carly at a local watering hole.

“I walked into the Red Zone one night, and this beautiful blonde gal goes walking by and I hit my buddy on the arm and was like, who is that? Now, two and a half years later, here we are,” said Oliver.

Oliver says the beautiful weather paired with the Husker win only helped to make the couple’s special day that much more meaningful.
