Husker fans tailgate ahead of the spring game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Many Husker fans took part in tailgating festivities outside of Memorial Stadium on Saturday before the spring game.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln marching band kicked off the pregame party with a “Go Big Red” chant before they gave the audience a taste of the music that they would play in the stands.

Channel 8 spoke to a few loyal Husker fans, one of whom showed up to see how new head coach Matt Rhule will transform the team.

“I feel like last year, we lacked a little bit until Mickey came in, so it’s gonna be fun to see how he leads the team and how he conducts all the practices and keeps the team engaged throughout the whole year,” Camden Otto said.

Tailgaters shopped for Husker gear and enjoyed a variety of street foods before heading into Memorial Stadium for the game.
