Raiola broke his fibula after being sacked in the third quarter of the game against USC. A day after the game, Nebraska announced he would be sidelined for the rest of the season.
Backup freshman QB TJ Lateef will now take over as the Huskers’ starting quarterback. In the USC game, Lateef rushed six times for 18 yards and completed five passes for 7 yards.
Lateef’s first opportunity as the starting quarterback will be on the road against UCLA on Saturday.
