Husker soccer adds Lincoln Southwest grad Alexa Gobel

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Lincoln Southwest goalkeeper Alexa Gobel is staying home.
Nebraska soccer head coach John Walker on Thursday announced the addition of the Lincoln native for the 2023 season.
Gobel just graduated from LSW, where she tallied 10 shutouts and 61 saves during her senior season.
She was also a two-time Super-State Second Team honoree and a 2023 member of the Girls Class A all-state team.
Gobel helped lead LSW to a runner-up finish in 2023, a third-place showing in 2022 and a fifth-place finish in 2021.
“Nebraska is a competitive school academically and athletically,” Gobel said. “After meeting with the coaches and players, I knew it would be a great fit for me. Growing up around the Big Ten and now being able to play in it is a dream come true. I can’t wait to be a Husker.”
