Husker softball drops defensive battle to No. 16 Oklahoma State

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The No. 18-ranked Nebraska softball team lost its second game of the Wichita State Tournament on Friday, falling to No. 16 Oklahoma State 1-0 at Wilkins Stadium.
After their extra-inning win over South Dakota State, the Huskers (13-5) battled in a defensive slugfest that only saw four total hits between the two teams.

No hits were allowed by either squad until Oklahoma State’s Megan Bloodworth launched a solo homer in the top of the fifth inning to give the Cowboys the lead.
Bloodworth recorded the only two hits for Oklahoma State.
The Huskers posed a threat in the bottom of the seventh inning with runners on first and second with one out, but they couldn’t capitalize off the opportunity.
Nebraska was led by Jordyn Bahl at the plate and in the circle. Bahl went 1-for 3 while also pitching seven innings, allowing only two hits and 1 run, and fanning eight.
So far this season, Bahl is boasting a .500 batting average with six home runs and 15 RBIs. She is also holding a 6-3 record on the mound with a 0.80 ERA and 65 strikeouts.
NU will play two games on Saturday as well, one against the Missouri Tigers at 3 p.m. and one against the Wichita State Shockers at 5:30 p.m.
