Husker women bounce Kansas City Roos in return to PBA
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) – No. 25 Nebraska used a strong defensive performance and a balanced offense Tuesday night as the Big Red rolled to an 84-38 women’s basketball victory over Kansas City at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Junior guard Callin Hake connected on a career-high five 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 16 points to lead five Huskers in double figures.
Hake added four rebounds, four assists and two steals in an impressive all-around effort that helped Nebraska improve to 6-1 on the season. The Roos slipped to 2-5.
Hake hit a pair of 3s in the opening minutes while backcourt mate Britt Prince added 6 points of her own to help Nebraska jump out to a 12-2 lead and never look back.
Prince finished with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Alberte Rimdal added another strong effort for the Big Red backcourt with a season-high 15 points, including 3-of-5 3-point shooting.
The senior guard from Denmark scored 8 points during a 13-0 Husker run to open the fourth quarter. She added five rebounds and two steals.
All-America candidate Alexis Markowski contributed her 43rd career double-double and her third of the season with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while freshman Amiah Hargrove rounded out the Huskers in double figures with career highs of 10 points and seven rebounds.
