Husker women close Indiana road trip with loss to Hoosiers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska women’s basketball team finished its Indiana road trip with a loss Sunday, falling to the Hoosiers 76-60 at Assembly Hall in Bloomington.


Indiana dominated the game from start to finish, getting out to a 12-point lead at halftime and continuing that momentum into the second half.

The Huskers outshot the Hoosiers from the field, shooting 48% compared to Indiana’s 46%.

Behind the arc is where Indiana did most of its work. The Hoosiers shot 43% from deep, hitting 13 of their 30 3-point shots. Nebraska only hit three of its 11 3-pointers.

Nebraska also struggled to take care of the ball, racking up 17 turnovers compared to Indiana’s 8. The Hoosiers scored 15 points off those turnovers.

Freshman Petra Bozan led the Huskers in scoring, tallying 12 points on 50% shooting.

Britt Prince and Amiah Hargrove each scored 11 points, while Alexis Markowski only scored 8 points.

Jessica Petrie led Nebraska in rebounds and assists with six and four. Logan Nissley and Callin Hake also had four assists each.

Indiana had several players scoring in double-digits, headlined by Yarden Garzon with 19 points on 54% shooting.

Garzon led the barrage of 3-pointers, shooting 5-for-9 from behind the arc.

Chloe Moore-McNeil totaled 15 points, while shooting 4-for-5 from deep. Karol Striplin put up 13 points and Sydney Parrish followed close behind with 11 points.

Parrish also led the Hoosiers in rebounds with eight, while Moore-McNeil dished out a team-high seven assists.

The Huskers will head back to Lincoln to take on Michigan on Thursday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
