LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska women’s basketball is going dancing.

The Huskers were selected on Sunday as a No. 6 seed in the NCAA tournament.

They will play No. 11 Texas A&M in the first round. The day and time of the game has not yet been announced.

The matchup is an odd twist of fate.

Just last week, Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts resigned to take the same job at Texas A&M.

And as if it weren’t strange enough, the Husker men were also matched up against the Aggies.

Nebraska, 22-11, narrowly lost the Big Ten tournament to No. 2 Iowa, falling 94-89 in overtime.

This will be the Huskers’ third March Madness appearance during coach Amy Williams’ tenure.

But Nebraska hasn’t made it past the first round since 2014.
