Husker women’s basketball wins 12 straight

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Husker women’s basketball team have now won 12 straight after beating Wyoming 72-61 in their last non-conference game of the season.
This concludes Nebraska’s second undefeated non-conference campaign in school history. The 2009-10 Nebraska women’s basketball team also went undefeated in non-conference play.
Highlights from the game include Annika Stewart scoring a career-high 21 points and Jaz Shelley acquiring her third double-double of the season.
Shelley finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and a steal, all seven assists in the opening half of the game. Stewart scored 21 points on 8-13 shooting, along with a career-best three blocked shots in just 15 minutes of play.
Nebraska made 45.9 percent (28-61) of their shots from the field, including 9-of-25 three-pointers (.360). Nebraska outrebounded Wyoming 39-36, both teams had nine turnovers during the game.
The defense held Wyoming to just 36.1 percent (22-61) shooting, including 6-of-24 threes (.250).
