Huskers beat Arkansas in four sets, punch ticket to semifinals
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 1 Nebraska volleyball defeated Arkansas in four sets on Saturday night, clinching a spot in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament.
Offensively, NU finished with a .194 hitting percentage.
Meanwhile, the defense held No. 3 seed Arkansas to .100 and racked up 17 blocks.
The Razorbacks went hog-wild in the first set, leading by 6 at one point.
But Nebraska clawed its way back to a nail-biting 26-24 win.
It was a different story in the second set, with the Huskers cruising to a 25-14 victory.
The third set was tit for tat, with 11 ties and five lead changes.
But Arkansas pulled away to win 25-21, forcing Nebraska to play a fourth set for the first time in the tournament.
The fourth also went down to the wire, with the Huskers winning 25-23 on a Razorback service error.
Merritt Beason led Nebraska with 19 kills, and Harper Murray tacked on 15.
Lexi Rodriquez racked up 20 digs, followed by Bergen Reilly with 16, Laney Choboy with 13, Murray with 12 and Beason with 11.
Bekka Allick finished with a career-high 12 blocks.
Nebraska will face Pittsburgh in the Final Four on Thursday.
