Huskers bounce back from Creighton and prepare for Doane on Thursday
The Huskers are still down several players after adding this Thursday's game to the schedule.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Huskers would have had a 12-day break if they hadn’t scheduled this Thursday’s in-state match up against Doane University. After looking at several options, head coach Fred Hoiberg and staff decided that playing an opponent would be the best option.
“One of the reasons we are doing this is to get a game against another opponent ,” Hoiberg said. “We’ve had a lot of time obviously in the gym against each other. So to get another opportunity to go out here in a game-type setting against another opponent is important.”
Two other main reasons for the addition include freshman Eduardo Andre and transfer Derrick Walker. Andre, who has been out due to COVID-19 protocols, is returning on Thursday.
“We felt that it was a good opportunity for Eduardo to not have his first action against two of the better ‘bigs’ in our league with Potter and Reuvers when we match up against Wisconsin,” Hoiberg said.
Nebraska also found out that Walker’s suspension has been reduced to 11 games from the start of the season.
“This is another game we can knock off of Derrick’s suspension,” Hoiberg said.
According to Trey McGowens, the team found out about the game on Monday after a couple days off following their loss to Creighton.
