Huskers evaluate solid offense and defensive performance and look ahead to Minnesota
The Gophers dominated the Huskers last year, but Nebraska will use momentum from their weekend win in Saturday's game.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – “They kicked our butt last year.”
That’s the reaction offensive coordinator Matt Lubick had when discussing this weekend’s match up against Minnesota. But coming off a much needed win against Purdue, the team saw solid improvements on both sides of the ball.
One of the more exciting plays from Saturday came from O’Neill, Neb. native Wyatt Liewer, who scored his first touchdown for the Huskers.
“It was probably my favorite play of the year,” Lubick said, as he had two receivers line up to block Liewer who easily found his way into the end zone.
“I was surprised,” Liewer said. “It was wide open. I immediately turned around looking for some sort of holding flag. I just didn’t know it worked that good.”
But now looking towards the final game of the regular season against the Gophers, defensive coordinator Erik Chinander summed up what it’s been like playing in 2020.
“It’s like playing on a different planet sometimes,” Chinander said.
And now, with the NCAA offering an extra year of eligibility, Chinander and other coaches are looking forward to having some of his senior players return.
“I hope we get all those guys back,” Chinander said.
