Huskers fall to Hawkeyes on senior day, miss Big Ten tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska men’s basketball team fell in its final game of the season Sunday, losing to Iowa 83-68 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
With the loss, the Huskers (17-14, 7-13) end the season on a five-game losing streak and miss the cut for the 2025 Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.
Nebraska only shot 35% from the floor and 22% from beyond the arc, compared to Iowa’s 49% from the floor and 39% from deep.
The Hawkeyes out-performed the Huskers in nearly every major statistical category, including rebounds (39 to 38), points in the paint (34 to 30) and turnovers (4 to 6).
Seven seniors were playing in their final game at PBA, including Brice Williams and Juwan Gary.

Although the Huskers wont make the trip to Indianapolis, there are still plenty of options for Nebraska to play post season basketball.
The most known options are the NIT and the CBI, two tournaments that host teams who do not make the NCAA March Madness tournament.
Recently, FOX Sports announced the College Basketball Crown Tournament in Las Vegas.
This tournament hosts programs from the top conferences for a 16-team tournament at the end of March.
It is still unknown what tournament Nebraska will be playing in, but head coach Fred Hoiberg said “we will be playing postseason basketball.”
