Huskers one man down for top-25 matchup against Illinois

Greg Sharpe

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska football team will be one man down Friday night as the voice of the Huskers, Greg Sharpe, will not be in the booth to call the game against Illinois.

The news was announced Thursday’s Sports Nightly show by co-host Jessica Coody.

Coody said that Sharpe will miss the game due to a medical procedure related to his cancer diagnosis, which he announced in April.

Coody also said she expects Sharpe will make the trip to Purdue for Nebraska’s first road game.

Bill Doleman will step in for Friday’s broadcast.
