Huskers set records for Glow Big Red donations

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glow Big Red campaign raised almost $600,000 in one day.

The fundraiser ran from noon Feb. 16 to noon Feb. 17 and collected 4,935 gifts, reaching a total of $598,575.

Last year, the university received 4,000 gifts that reached a total of $436,000.

Both the total amount of gifts and the total money raised are new records for the annual event, which started in 2019.

This year focused on a wide variety of opportunities to “Glow All In.” There were ways to donate to students in individual colleges as well as to support the many clubs and organizations on campus.

Over 100 campus-based student organizations participated, another record for Glow Big Red.

Gifts during the event were made on the Glow Big Red website, where full results are available.
