Huskers surge past Rutgers, advance in Big Ten Tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska was playing on easy mode in the first round of the women’s Big Ten basketball tournament in Indianapolis on Wednesday, defeating No. 15 seed Rutgers 84-60.
The No. 10 seed Huskers picked up their 20th win of the season with another offensive clinic, shooting 55% from the field.
Alexis Markowski tallied her 52nd double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman Amiah Hargrove was also a big contributor for the Huskers on Wednesday, putting up a career-high 13 rebounds.
Nebraska’s 24-point victory sets them up for a date with No. 7 seed Illinois at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Huskers and the Illini last played Feb. 16 in Champaign, where Illinois won 77-68.
