LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Midwest-based grocery chain is joining the list of those closed on the Thanksgiving holiday.

Hy-Vee will close its 550 stores on Thanksgiving Day, officials said Monday.  The chain’s corporate offices will also be closed.

The closure will affect all Hy-Vee grocery stores, Dollar Fresh Markets, Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations and Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits stores on Nov. 23.

“As we head into the holiday season, we want to once again show our appreciation for all our hardworking employees by providing them with quality time to spend with their loved ones,” CEO Jeremy Gosch said in a press release. “By closing our stores on Thanksgiving Day, our employees can focus on and enjoy their own celebrations.”

Hy-Vee holiday meal packs will be available for in-store pickup prior to the holiday or via curbside pickup from 8 to 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Those interested in ordering the holiday meal packs can do so on Hy-Vee’s website.

More information on specific store hours can be found on the store finder page.

Hy-Vee’s stores and offices will also be closed on Christmas Day.
