Associate Producer (Full-Time)
WLNE-TV/ABC6, Standard Media ABC affiliate in beautiful Providence, R.I., is looking for a full-time Associate Producer.
The ideal candidate will enjoy writing and newsgathering and will have a desire to learn how to produce newscasts, as the position involves filling in for the newscast producers.
This is an excellent opportunity to live and work in beautiful Rhode Island. We have miles and miles of gorgeous beaches. Providence has an exploding arts scene and endless food options!
Responsibilities:
- Write scripts for newscasts
- Produce newscasts (specifically, as a fill-in for the newscast producers)
- Edit video for newscasts
- Create content for all station digital platforms (this includes writing for the website and all digital platforms, shooting video for digital platforms and editing video for digital platforms)
- Gather news and assist the assignment desk
- Shoot video
The Associate Producer will work closely with the newscast producer, assignment desk, photographers, reporters and anchors to create high quality news content each day.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines throughout the day
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Strong writing skills
- Knowledge of a working newsroom and Adobe Premiere preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or similar field preferred
