Biden approves Rhode Island disaster relief

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — President Joe Biden has approved federal disaster relief assistance for Providence County, according to Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee.
The relief will be in response to storms that caused severe flooding and tornadoes in Sept., 2023
Local businesses and affected individuals will have access to the disaster assistance to be used for home repairs, legal services and low interest loans for small businesses.
“For the last several months, many of our cities and towns in Rhode Island have felt the lasting impacts from the September storm,” said McKee. “I thank President Biden and FEMA for their approval which will help affected families and businesses who suffered losses.”
Affected individuals and businesses can apply for assistance by registering at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
The FEMA app can also be used to apply.
