Digital Content Producer

WLNE -TV/ABC6, Standard Media’s ABC affiliate in beautiful downtown Providence, Rhode Island is looking for a full-time Digital Content Producer.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned digital media professional who can write, produce, curate and publish articles for all ABC6 platforms. The candidate will also monitor local, regional and national news stories for distribution on all platforms including web, mobile, social and emerging media properties.

Responsibilities:

–Research, write, edit and publish time-sensitive local, regional and national news content, with a focus on clarity, fairness, legality, spelling, grammar punctuation and style.

–Curate and optimize national, regional and local news stories for publication across multiple websites during key time periods.

–Manage postings on the station’s social media platforms, including the NOW Local News App.

–Post breaking news quickly and accurately while maintaining open communication with the ABC6 newsroom staff as stories develop.

–Assist with dispatching field teams to breaking news events.

–Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

–Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines throughout the day.

–Strong digital publishing skills including a solid understanding of SEO concepts, AP style, headline-writing and basic HTML.

–Familiarity with WordPress, Adobe CS, Google Analytics and/or other industry standard tools, as well.

–Organized and detailed-oriented.

–Strong collaboration and communication skills.

–Knowledge of a working newsroom.

–Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or similar field preferred.

–A team player who is willing to jump in and assist when needed.
