PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — AAA Northeast shared that the gas prices continue to move as we approach the new year.
Mark Schieldrop, Senior Spokesperson for AAA Northeast, shared that the national average price has increased for the first time since September.
Gas prices reached $3.33 at the beginning of December, and have been fluctuating throughout the rest of the month.
Today’s national average price is 13 cents lower than a month ago ($3.25) and is two cents higher than this day last year ($3.10).
After seeing a four-cent rise last week ($3.14), and is now averaging $3.11 per gallon, AAA said today.
This up-and-down pattern is predicted to continue through January 2024, said Schieldrop.
