New Bedford closing walkways due to strong winds
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – Several coastal walkways in New Bedford, Massachusetts will be closed early this week due to a high wind warning.
City officials said the Harbor Walk, Cove Walk and Fort Taber will be closed at 4 p.m. on Tuesday until further notice.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind warning beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday through 1 p.m. on Wednesday for Southern Bristol County.
The NWS forecast calls for sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts of up to 65 mph, with the strongest winds expected Tuesday evening through daybreak Wednesday.
