Post Road airport connector in Warwick to close starting Sunday

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said the Post Road on- and off-ramps at the Airport Connector in Warwick will be closed starting Sunday night.

The closure will allow for the milling and paving of the ramps.

The department said that the work will occur between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning from Aug. 20 to Aug. 24.

The following detours will be in place during closure hours:

• From Post Road northbound to Interstate 95: follow Post Road north to Coronado Road then to Jefferson Boulevard, and back to the Airport Connector to I-95.
• From Post Road southbound to I-95: Follow Post Road south to Main Avenue then to I-95.
• From Airport Connector East to Post Road: Take the Jefferson Boulevard exit, then follow Jefferson Boulevard northbound to Coronado Road then to Post Road.

RIDOT said that the closures do not impact traffic to or from Rhode Island TF Green International Airport.
