RI Uber and Lyft drivers join nationwide strike
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Justice for App Workers coalition’s Rhode Island Uber and Lyft drivers are initiating a Valentine’s Day strike at Rhode Island’s busiest airport.
The coalition shared that with the cost of living on the rise, drivers are seeing less income from each ride.
Justice for App Workers added a comment that, “Silicon Valley and Wall Street take an ever-increasing cut of driver earnings, despite drivers footing all industry expenses.”
The rideshare workers will be holding a rally at T.F. Green International Airport.
This marks the first-ever rideshare strike in Providence since Uber’s launch in 2013.
