T.F. Green Airport calm ahead of holiday weekend

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — With Christmas just three days away, travelers are setting off to their destinations for the holidays.

One employee at T.F Green Airport told ABC 6 News the travel rush happened around 4 a.m. Friday and since then it had been a much slower day.

“I am going back home for the holidays with my family to hang with them,” Steven Wilson of New London, Conn. said, “I am looking forward to the warm weather to be honest for a few minutes before I get back to the really cold weather here.”

Security lines were not experiencing band as of 3:30 p.m. there were no reported cancellations.

“I feel like this airport is really quiet today,” Gabriella Maggiacomo of Cranston said. “I don’t know if it is always like this but I am used to flying out of Boston to Austin, but I feel like it is pretty quiet.”

A long line formed at the ticketing and bag check for Breeze Airways and Sky High Airlines Friday morning but otherwise, there were not many issues.
