Updated COVID boosters now available

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — New COVID-19 boosters are now available at CVS Pharmacy, the company said.
The availability comes a day after the CDC recommended the new shots for all Americans six-months-old and older.
CVS Health said that pharmacies will receive the new vaccine today and will receive rolling inventory on a “rolling basis” through the rest of the week.
The CDC said that immunity from previous vaccines has faded in many people, and the new formulation “more closely targets” current variants.
“COVID-19 continues to impact communities across the country, so it’s important that we use the tools we have to stay healthy,” CVS Health Executive Vice President Sree Chaguturu said. “Through a simple vaccination, we can all help protect ourselves, our families, and our communities.”
Doctors are recommending the public also keep up with their vaccinations for the flu and RSV in order to avoid a “tripledemic” this fall.
