ICE says there are more than 100 identity theft victims of workers at Omaha plant
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Federal officials on Wednesday detailed allegations against some of the workers arrested in a raid at an Omaha plant.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement said about 70 immigrants in the country illegally were using stolen Social Security numbers and identities to work at Glenn Valley Foods.
There are more than 100 victims, ICE said.

“These so-called honest workers have caused an immeasurable amount of financial and emotional hardship for innocent Americans,” Mark Zito, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations’ Kansas City office, said in a statement. “If pretending to be someone you aren’t in order to steal their lives isn’t blatant, criminal dishonesty, I don’t know what is.”
ICE said someone in Texas who was unable to work struggled to get their disability payments because an employee at Glenn Valley was using their identity.
A victim in Pennsylvania was denied prescriptions after his identity was stolen, according to ICE.

Authorities said a nursing student in Missouri lost both their college tuition assistance and their driver’s license because their identity was stolen.
And ICE said someone in California spent almost 15 years regaining their identity after it was stolen by someone in the U.S. illegally.
