“I’m back”: Emmett Johnson forgoes transfer portal, stays true to Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson is back.

After announcing his intentions to transfer on Thursday, the sophomore running back reversed course and announced his return Sunday night in a post on X.

Johnson was a significant piece to the Nebraska offense down the stretch of the 2024 season. He finished the year with 523 yards rushing on 102 carries with one touchdown.

The Minneapolis native also caught 35 balls for 262 yards and a touchdown.
