UPDATE on ICE raid: 11 locations in Nebraska

UPDATE:
According to a press release by the Department of Homeland Security, more than 130 people were arrested on immigration violations. This includes not only Nebraska, but also Minnesota and Nevada.
Five of the businesses were in O’Neill, including their tomato processing plant. There are about 80 workers but after the raid, it might be down to 20.
The elementary school in town is providing care for the children impacted.
"Those people have been numerous, by phone call, by text, by email, offering support. As far as food, as far as if the children need a place to stay," said superintendent of O’Neill schools, Amy Shane.
The press release also states that this enforcement action is part of a 15 month, ongoing investigation.
Gov. Pete Ricketts said ICE is just "enforcing the law."
A special agent in charge said, "the job magnet in the United States is primarily what draws illegal aliens across our borders."
The Nebraska Appleseed Director, Darcy Tromanhauser, made a statement: "Senseless raids like these today leave long lasting damage across entire communities."
Here are a few actions ACLU Nebraska is taking after this immigration raid.
"We are empowering people to know there rights, we are fielding calls from individuals and families that are impacted to try and connect them with attorney’s to help manage their immigration cases," said Danielle Conrad.
We also reached out to the republican party but they had no statement.
The last time a major immigration raid happened in Nebraska was in 2006 when law enforcement officials swarmed a beef plant in Grand Island.

There were other ICE raids today in Nebraska, Minnesota and Nevada.

The press release also stated that, "this enforcement action is part of a 15-month, ongoing HSI investigation based on evidence that these companies allegedly knowingly hired illegal aliens at their facilities, and that many of these aliens are using fraudulent identification belonging to U.S. citizens."

ICE agents are currently conducting an immigration raid in O’Neill Nebraska.
It’s happening at the Ventures Tomato Processing Plant in the northwest part of the city.
Carl Rusnok, a spokesman for ICE said, "there is ongoing law enforcement activity," and said more details would come out later today.
