Increased storm chances tonight and Monday night in Nebraska
Monday, a SLIGHT risk for severe weather is in place for much of SE Nebraska. A MARGINAL risk for surrounding areas. Scattered storms will develop in the mid afternoon and intensify by Monday evening and Monday night. The main concerns will be winds up to 60 mph, quarter size hail and a few weak tornadoes possible.
A few brief rotations could occur in a few isolated storms in SE Nebraska Monday afternoon and evening.
Winds up to 60+ mph will be likely with these storms.
Quarter size hail will be likely with these storms as well.
Monday morning, a few isolated showers and thunderstorms. By Monday evening, isolated and scattered storms develop in parts of SE Nebraska. These storms will have winds up to 60 mph, quarter size hail and a few weak rotations possible as the evening hours progress. The storm and shower activity will continue through Tuesday morning leaving behind much needed rainfall for some.
Tuesday, a MARGINAL risk for severe weather is in place for the whole state. A SLIGHT risk is in place in far west Nebraska. The slight risk could get extended east in the next update. Storms will develop in parts of the panhandle and SW Nebraska in the afternoon hours as daytime heating gets in place. The main concerns will be large hail and damaging winds and can’t rule out a few brief tornadoes as well.
Monday, temperatures will vary due to the cold front timing. Safe to say, cooler temperatures than what we have been witnessing!
North winds will be a bit calmer Monday, gusting to around 15-20 mph through the morning hours.
Monday, temperatures staying warm in the 80s with storms likely by late Monday afternoon and evening. These scattered storms will have all the severe concerns. The storm chances will continue through the week, with temperatures staying close to average in the 80s and 90s.
