Inmate serving time for meth, terroristic threats dies in Lincoln prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An inmate at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln died Thursday.

Jerry Yelli, 60, was serving a nine to 17-year sentence for possession of methamphetamine, driving with a revoked license and terroristic threats in Holt and Madison counties.

He started his sentence in November 2018.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but Yelli was being treated for a medical condition.

Whenever an inmate dies in custody, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
