Investigation underway after police find shell casings in south Lincoln parking lot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are investigating after several gunshots were heard in a south Lincoln parking lot early Thursday morning.

Around 2:50 a.m., officers were sent to the area of 27th Street and Tierra Drive on a report of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found four shell casings and a live round in a parking lot, police said.

After a witness heard gunshots, they came outside to see a large SUV leaving and crashing into two parked vehicles, according to police.

The vehicles were not damaged by gunfire, but police estimate the vehicles had a combined $12,000 in damage from the crash.
