Investment in lifesaving rescue tools pays off after semi demolishes car in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska fire chief is thanking community leaders for making sure crews have the tools they need, following a destructive crash.

Osceola Fire and Rescue Chief Toby Watts says a semi collided with a car on Tuesday, at the 81-92 Junction just west of town.

He says rescue tools that the city council and rural fire board purchased for the department over a year ago were essential.

According to Watts, they helped crews give the victim every fighting chance.

He adds they always knew one day the tools would be critical to saving a life.
