LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska men’s basketball team is adding a forward from a conference rival to its roster.

On Friday, Pryce Sandfort — a 6-foot-6 forward playing at Iowa — announced that he is transferring to play for Fred Hoiberg and the Huskers.

In his sophomore season with the Hawkeyes, Sandfort played in 33 games, averaging 8.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.6 steals per game.

Sandfort had a strong performance against the Huskers in the final game of the regular season, putting up 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Nebraska basketball is amidst a run in the College Basketball Crown tournament in Las Vegas.  The Huskers take on Boise State in the semifinals on Saturday.

A few notable players — like Rienk Mast and Connor Essegian — have already committed to returning to the Huskers for next season.
