IRS launches new initiative that could speed up refunds
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The IRS is launching the Paper Processing Initiative, a move towards ditching paper filing tax returns for digital ones.
The IRS says this will cut processing time in half and speed up refunds for taxpayers by four weeks.
Also, taxpayers will be able to submit correspondence online.
The new initiative allows people to e-file 20 additional tax forms, which will enable up to four million more tax documents to be filed online annually.
