Irving Middle School wins contest

The school is one of 8 in the country to win the $25,000 prize through Windstream.

Classroom Connections was an online voting contest. The winners were announced Monday by Windstream.  Eight schools received the top votes, including Irving Middle School in Lincoln.

Drama teacher Troy Hassebroek says he and the students are excited.  His students had put together the contest entry video.  Irving will receive $25,000 to use for technology upgrades.

The eight $25,000 award recipients are:

Arrowhead Elementary in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
 
Central Cabarrus High in Concord, North Carolina
 
George Walton Academy in Monroe, Georgia
 
Irving Middle in Lincoln, Nebraska
 
Lakeside Intermediate in Ashtabula, Ohio
 
Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary in Lexington, Kentucky
 
Newton Christian in Newton, Iowa
 
West Fork Middle in West Fork, Arkansas
