‘It doesn’t make sense’: Lincoln homicide victims remembered at People’s City Mission
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – As the Lincoln Police Department revealed new details of last week’s homicides, a vigil was held in memory of the victims.
The family, friends and staff who knew Ronald George and Ronnie Patz gathered at People’s City Mission in Lincoln on Wednesday night to celebrate their lives.
“Both of these guys stayed at the mission on and off for many years,” said the CEO, Pastor Tom Barber. “It’s just nonsense. It doesn’t make sense.”
The men had been staying at the mission on and off for years, along with the main suspect in the killings.
Barber said this is a hard time for the staff and guests.
He hopes that with the memorial, they can begin to process their grief and move past what happened.
The names of both victims will be displayed on the Memorial Garden Wall at the shelter.
