James Webb Telescope captures powerful reaction between two stars

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — New images captured by the James Webb Space Telescope show a powerful reaction to extreme interactions among stars.

They feature a double-star system located approximately 5,000 lightyears away from Earth.

Astronomers say the stars create rings of dust plumes that can stretch thousands of times the distance between Earth and the sun.

The violent get-together happens every eight years when the stars come close together.

This duo can also generate its own stellar wind, and if strong enough, a stellar hurricane.
