John Fogerty is coming ‘Up Around the Bend’ to Lincoln’s Pinewood Bowl

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – John Fogerty — the founder of Creedence Clearwater Revival — is bringing classic rock tunes to Lincoln later this year.

The legendary rocker will be joined by George Thorogood and the Destroyers, plus Hearty Har, at Pinewood Bowl Theater on Aug. 11.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.  More information can be found on Pinewood Bowl’s website.

CCR is known for several hits, including “Fortunate Son,” “Up Around the Bend” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.”

Fogerty — who is credited with writing those songs — is one of the 100 greatest songwriters, according to Rolling Stone.

REO Speedwagon, Dwight YoakamBilly IdolWillie NelsonRobert Plant, Alison Krauss and Vampire Weekend are also stopping at Pinewood Bowl this year.
