Jordyn Bahl throws no-hitter in Huskers’ win over Northern Colorado

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The No. 18-ranked Nebraska softball team won its second game of the day on Saturday, beating Northern Colorado 10-0 in five innings at the Troy Cox Classic.
The story of the game was Jordyn Bahl’s no hitter, marking her first career no-hitter at Nebraska and the 41st no-hitter in Nebraska history.
It took the Huskers a couple innings to get going on offense, not getting a run across the plate until the third inning.
Nebraska scored 3 runs in the third, 3 in the fourth and 4 in the fifth to grab its fourth run-rule win in as many games in the classic.
Bahl (3-1) pitched 5.0 innings while allowing no hits, no runs and striking out five batters.

As a team, the Huskers racked up eight hits and committed no errors. The Bears committed two errors.
Lauren Camenzind and Ava Bredwell led the Huskers from the plate, each racking up two hits and two runs. Bredwell also hit a home run and knocked in a team-high four RBIs.
Earlier in the day, Nebraska defeated Montana 13-5 in six innings. Ava Kuszak led the Huskers from the plate going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a home run.
Emmerson Cope (2-0) got the win in that game, pitching 2.1 innings in relief while only giving up three hits and a run.
Nebraska will play its final game of the Troy Cox Classic on Sunday, matching up with Montana at 10 a.m.
