J-Tech Construction holding fun benefit for flood victim

Helping out a flood victim.
J–Tech Construction is holding a fundraiser Saturday for one of its employees Brian Zimmerman.
Zimmerman said the March flood damaged his home in Waterloo beyond repair.
“It pretty much ruined the whole house,” he said. “It had refrigerators in the living room dumped over, my dresser was in the kitchen, the water got about four feet high. I mean, it literally ruined everything to where I walked out with nothing but some clothes and that was it.”.
J–Tech Construction is helping him and his daughter get back on their feet. Saturday in Lincoln, they’ll have a family–friendly event with Bingo, bag toss, poker, cake walk and shuffle board. They’ll also auction off a three–night stay in the Ozarks.
All of the proceeds will go to help Brian and his daughter.
“We’re going to have fun here and it’s all for somebody who really deserves it, you know?” marketing director Julie Parker said. “And even if they’ve got just a little bit of time, come out here, have some food, have some drinks, play some games.
The event happens Saturday from 2-7 p.m. at J–Tech Construction near 62nd St. and Havelock Ave.
