Judge finds probable cause to try Lincoln felon accused of having meth and loaded gun

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln felon will stand trial once again on drug and gun charges.
A judge ruled Thursday that there is enough evidence to try 41-year-old Scott Enevoldsen on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Lancaster County Judge Laurie Yardley then bound the case over to district court.

On Dec. 26, officers found Enevoldsen near 48th Street and Cornhusker Highway after receiving a report of someone slumped over in a car.
Court documents say Enevoldsen was awake when officers got there, but they smelled marijuana and saw a “makeshift bong” in the center console.
One officer also saw a pistol poking out from underneath a backpack, according to an arrest affidavit.
That prompted a search of the car.
Police said the gun, which was reported stolen, was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
Officers also found two more “makeshift” pipes, a broken glass pipe, 0.8 grams of marijuana and a 4-inch knife, the affidavit says.
And Enevoldsen had 3.2 grams of meth in his pocket, police said.
He had a prior drug conviction, so he was banned from possessing firearms.
At the time of his arrest, he had been out of prison for about six months.
Enevoldsen is set to be arraigned in Lancaster County District Court on March 26.
