K9 helps track down teen accused of stealing car, running from Lincoln officers

Lincoln Police say a K9 helped track down a teen accused of stealing a car and running from officers. 

Police spokeswoman Angela Sands said an officer saw the stolen car near 27th and O Street around midnight Thursday. When the officer tried to approach the vehicle, the driver sped away before ultimately taking off on foot near 25th and M Street, Sands said. 

A police service dog named Beersie track down the suspect, a 15-year-old male. The teen was arrested for operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest an turned over to juvenile probation.
